Drift Indy’s headed to the Motor City this weekend with a killer roster of Drift Indy Street League and Drift Indy Grand Prix drivers for this season’s second round of competition. Both series are set to have a super competitive round, and it’s all going down right next door to the legendary Woodward Dream Cruise.

If you’ve been to a Drift Indy event in the past six or seven years, you’ve almost certainly seen a slightly older dude in an open face helmet with a smile plastered on his face driving with just about everybody. Prior to 2024, you would’ve seen him behind the wheel of a graffiti-liveried 240SX. Last season he transitioned into a New Edge Mustang, and the smile only got bigger. 

Rodney Blankenship and his positive attitude have become a staple of Drift Indy events, and this season he has taken an early lead atop the Drift Indy Street League standings after an impressive performance at Round One.

The first round of a new competitive season has a habit of setting the tone for the rest of the season, and if that proves to be true this year then we’re in for a hell of show from our Drift Indy Street League and Grand Prix drivers. Round One featured some of the best driving we’ve seen in DISL, and the inaugural round of DIGP delivered on its promise of bringing the best drivers and most competitive builds from past seasons of DISL together to throw down in a spectacle of driving skill and style.

Drift Indy Street League has sought to bring together some of the best drivers and coolest cars in the midwest to battle it out in a contest of style and skill for several seasons now. With the leaderboard wiped clean for 2024, newcomers and oldheads alike had the opportunity to earn some hardware and, most importantly, bragging rights.

Our initial roster of 25 Drift Indy Grand Prix shredders is all set for Round One, coming April 18th and 19th. These guys represent some of the best the midwest has to offer in style and skill, and we're proud to have them make up our first field for the inaugural DIGP season.

We are super excited to introduce a new series ahead of the 2025 season! Drift Indy Grand Prix is the next level in stylish, skilled and exciting driving. DIGP rounds will be held alongside Drift Indy Street League rounds.
