Birth of a Drift Team: Team Shade and Its Origins, By Joey Ritter
It’s not about being competitive or being the coolest or best drift team. It’s just about having fun with your bros and always helping the ones in need. Most importantly, it’s a lot less frustrating crashing into your friends than it is random people. You get to heavily persuade your friends to help you fix their mistakes. Also, who doesn’t love a good team drift picture? Just remember: The key to having fun is to keep it simple. Stop building pro cars as amateurs and just go have fun with your friends.
Driver Spotlight: Deidra Drake
“Once you get into it, it kind of just takes over a little bit, almost to the point where I have to remind myself ‘you’ve got to do other things, like make time to hang out with friends.’ Because when you're not drifting, you're working on your car or you're planning different things for your car or hanging out with your car friends and doing stuff with their cars.”
DISL Reflections From the Top Step: Colten Terrell
Hey everyone! For those who may not know me, my name is Colten Terrell. I drive the red, 1JZ-powered S13 and recently finished as Drift Indy’s overall points leader for the first ten volumes of Street League.
2023 Season Recap: History, Made
In between making history with the first full, legal touge event with Drift Appalachia and rounding off the saga that was the first 10 volumes of DISL, we had plenty of that signature Drift Indy fun.

Driver Spotlight: Jake Clark
14-year-old Jake Clark joined us for Drift Indy Street League Volume 9 at Kil-kare and, while he came just short of making it through prelims on a soaked and slippery track, he was a ton of fun to watch during practice.
Drift Chassis Spotlight: Chevy Corvette
In a sea of Asian and Euro imports, a few screaming eagles have managed to break into the drift scene and establish themselves as American-made, driftable rides. Mustangs have long been a go-to pick for drivers looking to keep it domestic, but the Chevy Corvette has really started to equal or exceed their numbers at drift events of late.
No Star Bash XII: Event Recap
The 12th iteration of Drift Indy’s No Star Bash provided the promised seat time, homie hangs and party atmosphere that everyone has come to expect from the biggest bash on our yearly calendar.
Derek King Named Drift Appalachia Motorsports Director
We are excited to announce that Drift Indy's own Derek King has been named Motorsports Director for Drift Appalachia, our sister organization.
An Intro to Drift Photography
Drifting is probably the motorsport that allows for the most self expression, which is a huge part of what makes it so much fun to photograph. I encourage anyone interested in getting into motorsports photography to go grab a cheap, used DSLR and a few lenses and get out to some grassroots events.
Drift Indy x Drift Appalachia Touge Recap
Standing halfway up a mountain road in Jackson County, KY and hearing 12 different exhaust notes echoing through the hills as 10 drift cars, a lead car and a chase car start to gun it toward the uphill section of the US’ first legal touge on a public road gave me chills then and remembering it still does now.
